History

The Washington Emergency Medical Services and Trauma Act of 1990 created eight EMS regions in Washington State. Each Region is responsible for planning and coordination of EMS services within their Region. Central Region serves King County. The EMS regions work together with the Washington State Department of Health Office of Community Health Systems to promote and support a system of emergency medical and trauma care services which provides timely and appropriate emergency medical treatment for people throughout Washington State.
